HB9HC/AM on – and in – the air! 

Using the callsign HB9HC/AM, the USKA/HTC National Mountain Day Commission will be operating in the air during a hot-air balloon flight!
 
The HB9HC/AM team looks forward to making a QSO with you during that flight!!

Touchdown -- the balloon has safely landed! The final RBN spot was at 0739 UTC, and the balloon landed just east of Muri, Canton AG, at roughly 0830 UTC. Thanks for all the QSOs!! We will QSL 100% and your cards will be in the mail soon.
 
Timeframe
2-hour hot-air balloon flight between 0530 - 0900 UTC (0730 - 1100 local time).

Rig
KX3 at 15W, vertical (dangling) antennas for 40m, 30m and 20m. Additional bands if possible.
 
RBN/cluster
It is advisable to monitor the Reverse Beacon Network or a DX cluster to keep current on the latest operating frequency. RBN link
 
QTH
Anyone can track the balloon's exact position using APRS.
 
QSLs
Every QSO will be automatically confirmed with a "Balloon Card" sent via the bureau. Further details on QRZ.com.
